Competition for women
This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Jonne and Tia Claire Toomey-Orr won the first competition. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramoo Connell were second and third, each. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.
The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Kara Saunders, an Australian athlete who finished second in Australia in the team division and eleventh overall in 2020 is another contender. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. The Women's competition will feature these athletes as well as Sara Sigmundsdottir (an Icelandan competitor who won the first place medal at World Crossfit Games earlier last year).
Pegboard contest
Pegboard contest at Crossfit Games 2121 was a new concept. It was also added to the Games' Olympic summer program. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 and became the Games' third winner. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

Reebok's equipment
Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Reebok has billed this shoe as "the shoe of fitness," but it actually feels more like a traditional training shoe. The shoe's upper is made from DuPont's Kevlar material, which promotes durability and breathability. The firm midsole and RopePro tech enhance the responsiveness of the shoes.

CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games.
